“Honey, the toilet is clogged again!”
A clogged toilet can be a big headache, especially if it’s the only one in your home! Attempting to unclog it yourself seems fairly simple; however, if not done the correct way it can lead to a toilet overflow and a mess all over your bathroom floor. Yuck!
Unclog that toilet the correct way
First, you need to make sure to use the correct plunger style. A cup-style plunger is for sink clogs, and a flange style is for toilet clogs. The reason for this is the flange creates a suction at the bottom of the toilet bowl.
- Before you start plunging, make sure to turn off the water first.
- Fill the flange with water first by tipping it into the water in the bowl.
- Place the plunger directly over the hole and gently start to plunge.
